In for repairs....

Thanksgiving Dinner. If you look closely you will find two cornish game hens, steamed carrots and stuffing! The little oven is a real champ. It works on propane. I made a steamer out of tinfoil for the carrots, good old stove top stuffing and a bottle of wine completed the meal!

That night the weather turned overcast, rainy and the seas were rough! It rained buckets and we found that our boat was not so water tight after all. We spent the night in winds and rain on an anchor!

As you recall, we were in anchorage at Anegada. We decided to get up and get going with the day while the sun was out - however still windy. Jim tried to fish, I did some laundry (by hand) and worried that our anchor would pull up and I would have to try to manage the boat alone! OK - that lasted about 15 minutes but I was running through my options in my head. Jim returned and we decided that we would return to the SunSail port to have them look at the leaks in the boat. One of the leaks was over the electronics station so we figured this could be important.

Before we left (see picture above on the left) we took a short walk to the Flamingo's habitat. Look closely for little pink dots. There were about 95 of them in a salt pond in the middle of Anegada. The picture also gives you an idea of just how flat Anegada is - only 28 feet at its highest point.

Today we are plotting our course to Puerto Rico and the Spanish Virgin Islands.... The leaks have been repaired (and rain tested!). More later...

Good thing you got the holes plugged. You wouldn't want the Coast Guard to have to come bail you out!!
