All alone...

If it wasn't for the sea lions I'd be all alone:

Pete left this morning to fly back to Colorado. It turned out to be an interesting departure. We got to the Hertz store at their supposed opening time of 9am. That’s when we noticed the store hours were “Monday-Friday. Hours Vary.” Hmmm….

Finally about 9:30am she rolled on in and informed us that the truck she drove up in was the last rental car they had! While she tried to figure out the computer (all the while complaining that she’s never been trained in how to do this) and made several calls to the “Corporate Office,” we wandered through the electronics side of this multi-service store. I came across a box for a video camera that HAD to be 10 years old!

She finally got things sorted out and then went out to get the mileage and fuel level in the truck. While she was doing that the door opened and a guy came in and looked puzzled. We were familiar with that look (“Where is the rental car place?”).

I asked him if he was going to rent a car and when he said yes I told him I had some bad news for him. Then I asked where he was going and it turned out he was heading to Oakland! So Pete got someone to ride with him and that guy is paying all the gas. Everyone is happy (except for me since I now have to do all my own boat maintenance and dishes).

One last note - I want to give a HUGE thank you and congratulations to the Galle's and Stafford's for raising a couple of really great guys. Your sons are world class and you should be really proud of them. They are welcome on our boat ANYTIME!

Hey at least the Sea Lions are still there…however I’m looking forward to waking up tomorrow to the sound of an alarm clock, not the barking of Sea Lions. Also, your IT consultant is very proud of your video posting skills, nice job. :)

oh you boys! So funny! Us girly visitors on the boat will have to step it up and make it worthwhile that we're invited! Don't worry, I can offer speech therapy for all those who bonk their heads on the low doors!

Oh poor dad! I wish I could come out and keep you company...it'd be MUCH better than studying for the MCAT!! Enjoy the relaxation for the both of us :)
